places I would love to go like Canon and Wildcat realistically not possible mid week daytrip from Rhode Island to make season pass worse of considering

A night trip to Yawgoo is on my top 5 priorities for next season.

Does anyone know howmuch prices for WaWa will rise in June? I wasn't able to find it on their website.

I got a season pass thru the GPS program last year $189 got out about 5 mid week days and 10 nites . If you can avoid the place between 3:00 and 7:30 you can avoid most crowds.Back in the day I would get at least 100 days yr mostly K mart [lived on mt], and a lot out west. Then came kids and 2-3 days yr, that pass was the best thing I have done for me in a long time. Not a hard mt by any stretch but only 1hr 15 min for me.It feels great just to turn em again!

Let's collect names and then draw straws for point person
. Should we start a different thread?

I'm not sure about collecting names for now because those who involve in this thread or interested to buy WaWa season pass can simply stated here his/her decision or PM you or me.

for point person not really sure what should be done. Don't think it difficult to register that GPS club

definitely we should put "official announcement" ;)

I'm already in a GPS group, so I'm out. I think if you get ten members the pointman gets a free bronz pass. 20 and it's a gold pass.

If 9 more people will get interested (total 11) cost off pointman pass can be divided between everybody and makes cost per person even less. $172

MadPadraic forgot to ask. How many passes do you need? I need only.

Does Why-choose-it have any cheap passes for college students? I couldn't find any but maybe I'm retarded. If not I'll probably be in for it.

One pass option that has some appeal to me is the Silver ($269, $249 if in GPS)...includes weekends before Christmas and in March. How is the skiing at Wachusett during early and late season?

One other thing I'm not sure about is the nights...are the passes good from 4 PM or from 6PM?

My son's school ski program also goes to Wachusett...if I got him one of these passes, I'm guessing we wouldn't have to pay for the lift tickets but I'm not sure.

For the bronze, weekend nights start at 4:00 pm. Did this several times this past season. Sat and Frid nights seems like a teenage hangout, Sunday seems more laid back (IMO).

The only thing I was leery of with the silver is a bad season, Wachuestt only covered a couple of trails during the early season, the rumor mill is that the generators (for snowmaking) are not up to full capacity. Late season, is dependent on mother nature, they will try to stay open as late as possible.

Do you remember how warm it was at the begining of the season? Wachusett was in the same boat as everyone else and the did an excellent job getting up and running under the circumstances. Once it got cold the whole mountain was open in no time (with no natural snow). Normally most of the mountain is open towards the beginning of December.

They closed on April 1 this year, maybe could have stayed open another week, but it was going fast.

Thanks...the 4 PM starts make it more appealing.

The cost difference between the Bronze and Silver is about $60 - $70, so I'll have to think about it...

Don't get me wrong, IMO, the Crowleys are doing a great job. This past season, they just kept one trail open on the summit lift and they started to make snow for the rest of the mountain during the new year. If they had full capacity from the generators they probably would have cover more trails sooner. IIRC, they had a fire that damage there generators, not sure what the time table is for the repairs.
