Skied Wachusett from about 11 to 4 today. They had received about 2 inches of snow last night and it had bonded well with the existing manmade base. Here is a trail by trail description:

Conifer: Frozen Granular at the top, packed powder/hardpack at bottom. Extremely crowded.

10th Mtn Trail: One giant sheet of ice on the "Headwall" with all the snow pushed into the woods/snowmaking pipes. Lower 10th was enjoyable with lots of soft loose snow.

Smith Walton: Similar to 10th except some erratic moguls were forming on the steep section.

Hitchcock Trail: Very nice packed powder surface.

Frannie's Folly: Mini park set up with 4 rails and a giant lip that was fun to launch off. :spread:

Challenger: Hardpack surface that was firm, but not icy. This seemed to be where many of the lessons were taking place.

Ralph's Run: Probably the best snow on the mountain, lots o' loose snow with some "untracked" along the edges.

Thanks for the report. I'll be up there a couple of nights this week trying out my new skis.

I'm all excited!

The liftlines were about 7-8 minutes on the Polar Express and 1-2 minutes on the Minuteman.
