Drove up to Wawa for some night riding tonight. Got there about 7:20 and was surprised how empty the carpark was.

I was glad to see Challenger and Ralphs open...until I went on them. Ralph's was bad. Rock hard surface with very little loose granular on top. Ralph's is also flat as a pancake as well. Last year there were some decent up and down sections, don't know if they regraded that or something, but it is super boring right now.

After one run on Ralph's I move onto Challenger. Better conditions than Ralph's but still pretty icy. Did a few runs on here then went to see what Connifer was like.

Connifer was great. Nice soft surface with only a few scratchy parts. Wawa was blowing hard on 10th - a few whales present. After numerous runs on this I went to Indian Summer just for a change of pace. Christ is that lift slow. They are also blowing on Sundowner. Started blowing Indian Summer towards the end of the night too.

It was a very quiet night in general. Not much traffic on the slopes at all. No liftlines to speak of. The quiet before the school-bus storm!

I also noticed a dirt half pipe on the bottom of Look Mom. I don't remember seeing this last year there...is it new or what was left from the "old" half pipe.

I went to Indian Summer just for a change of pace. Christ is that lift slow.

That lift is incredibly slow. When I was up there last week with my daughter, the attendant at the top actually slowed it down even more for us to unload, which surprised me.

Next time up, I actually waved us through so he wouldn't torture us by slowing it down again. :lol:

It's been there a few years... they built it for the old pipe and only ended up using it once because the stupid environmentalists got pissed off that it used "too much snowmaking."
