Conditions: Mid 30's, overcast, no wind

Not too crowded at Wachusett this morning. The snow was pretty good until around lunchtime, when it started to get pretty chopped up. Coverage is still good, but they could probably benefit from a little snowmaking when temperatures cooperate.

They have moguls on Hitchcock now, so I was trying my luck with those. Snow was pretty soft, so they were fun. I'm still really bad at moguls, so I don't have the confidence you need to really do it right. But I felt like I made a little progress.

Here are some pics:

Lower part of Tenth

Upper Tenth, they've crudely seeded some new bumps, which will need to be skied in.

Smith Walton - probably in the best shape of all the trails today since it had the least traffic

Confier was kind of choppy with loose piles of snow that was starting to refreeze a little.

Here are the bumps on Hitchcock. The lighting was bad for photography, but the bumps were in pretty good shape.

Considering the winter we've been having, that's some good coverage.

Actually looks pretty decent! I'm gonna try to get up there on Saturday. Won't have a lot of time but a couple hours to put in some turns.

Skied tonight. Racing was interesting mix of ice, ruts and deep loose granular. They were using a different pace setter tonight who smoked the course and he's got a really good handicap (He beat AJ Kitt at the pace setter trials), so very few people scored platinums tonight. He got booed in the bar later in the evening. lol

Bumps on Hitchcock were nice and the ones on 10th had been skied in some. They were small, but regular and fairly close together making them easy to rip. Good night overall.

Ugh! The seeding on tenths blows..... doesn't look to have a good rythm. Going to try them out this weekend but I have second thoughts, maybe the other run on hitchock has a better formation.

Hmm.... have to decide if taking on the extra drive time to Sundown is worthwhile or not :-?
