Date(s) Skied:
1/21/2011
Resort or Ski Area:
Wachusett Mountain
Conditions:
6-7" Packed/Choppy powder
Trip Report:
Went to Wachusett at opening today (9 AM) The lot was full only to the 2nd row, and the place was basically deserted for the next hour or so.
Looking towards the Polar Express
Looking up the Terrain Park slope
For the First run I went straight to Balance Rock. Where it intersects Conifer I noticed that the abandoned middle section between Tenth and Conifer was open.
Looking back towards Conifer
Looking down the section of the trail that goes back towards Conifer.
I skied for a few more hours, took a break at the bullock lodge, and around 2:30 went in as lines started to grow. Here's a picture of a bumped up Tenth on my last run.
Overall it was a good day with not many crowds and some good powder early on.
ROTD was Either Balance Rock or Tenth.
