Wachusett Opening Day 11/23/07

Conditions: LSGR sides, very scraped middle for Conifer

Trip Report:

Pretty good opening day for Wachusett, especially considering it's still November. I skiied from 9:30 to 3:30 with a 45 minute break around 2 to get my skis sharpened. It was very crowded for an opening day and too many people packed onto Conifer. It shouldn't be long for 10th to open as they were blasting it all day and it already had some huge whales. Took a few runs with Austin a little after noon before he took off for the day. Overall, besides the good amount of people, it was a nice day. I'll be in VT tomorrow (not sure where yet) so I'll have that report tomorrow night.

EDIT: Mount Snow it is for tomorrow. CHUTE HERE I COME!

Thanks for the report. If they get tenth open I'll definitely be up there Monday.

I was up there too most of the day....INHO considering weather and only 1 trail opened top to bottom it was not bad.

I'll be on the hill by 830 tomorrow...gotta get my picture taken and get my bindings adjusted for new boots.

Good picture of the bottom of Conifer too. I've seen pics of Bunny Buster at K and I have no idea how that could possibly be more crowded than the last 1/8 of Conifer was at some points today.
