we expect live video and shots of conditions TB- I know that feeling- 4 days my kid and I were #1 in Wildcat lift on 4 powder days in a row. Peruvian has its advantages. . .glad you're gettin' some!In the lodge at Albion waiting for thundersnow to pass. ETA for opening 10:30-11. My skis are number one in line.
Didn't open till 12...left at 3..trapped here while they let s bird empty out..going to take hours to get home...for 5 runs.
This is fucked...Glad I got to ski here when it wasn't a total shit show..
Yeah, it was a complete shit show. Understandably a lot of the issues stemmed from a very unstable snow pack. Patrol was basically seeing everything slide. What would have been a lot better was the communication. The 9:15am opening was delayed due to lightning....while Solitude was loading guests. 10:30am opening became 11:05am and when they said "all other lifts delayed" it meant that folks only had two routes down Sunnyside for the first hour or so. I was on the first chair but it got me basically first tracks down Crooked Mile and Patsy Marley. I still appreciated it, but yeah, it was a rough day. Lines were more like a holiday. I wisely left at 2pm to avoid the shit show down the Canyon. One guy was holding all of us up as he was slipping and sliding down the road. He went off the road and into a ditch; I called 911 for him. It was clear that he did not have snowtires. It is going to be a long evening up there......Didn't open till 12...left at 3..trapped here while they let s bird empty out..going to take hours to get home...for 5 runs.

The thing was that today was not the best snow that Utah is known for. It is dense and perfect for base building, but mostly an east coast kind of powder day--no real face shots to be had. I got half of one on the Lower Race Course at Alta. I'll take it!It really is a catch 22. The best snow in all of America, but you will suffer mightily for it when it's at its best.
Folks told me that it rained in Park City overnight.
Maybe they were up overnight…Have to wonder how anyone got past the check point without snow tires.
This road is a total disaster these days..
Bcc is no better...and longer.
Whose going to pay for that boondoggle? As a UT taxpayer I don't want to.If you are going to have rules and check points and not use them then why bother...
