Park City and DV heading towards a disastrous Christmas but it won't take much to get them turned around.

First snow of the season today, only took to almost December! Gotta' be near a record. I'm thinking 4" maybe, but at least it's a start.
They cut a massive amount of terrain below 7,000 feet that will freeze/thaw all season and likely receive a few rain events.
Down by the hotel, for much of the winter it's going to be totally brown, and then you'll really see the snowmaking chops because there will be 100% coverage on all those beginner trails. Kind of weird honestly. But you know in the brochures and online for that $800/night hotel it will be lucious white winter!

This is from Chris Tomer's update today. Pray it doesn't verify or after this week we wont have any snow until maybe the week before Christmas.

Well all I can say is fire up the snow guns in the east. Back on the right coast now so a good start here is welcome. I still have faith that in the end Utah and Colorado will happen and things will be at least ok when I head back west in March

Yes, historically, slow starts can turn around pretty quickly. It sucks because now we are at a point where this is getting pretty bad. This week looks like a good start.

14" to 24" coming this weekend.

Not enough to get bare ground open, but it we cobble together another 14" - 24" after that, it should open a lot I'd think.

Wow, yeah I guess it's trended way better than since this morning. Now the NOAA source I used for the 14" to 24" is more like up to 20" Park City and 40" Cottonwoods.
