I highly doubt it, but theres a chance the very summit lift would be able to run by that time.

Hell if they do get up and running Ill stop in sometime midweek while Im home for break. Otherwise Ill hit Big K for the first time in a few years.

They will make it. In the past it has taken about 3 nights of snow making to get the top open. They have some kind of snow board event the week before at the base also. I'll make it there the 18th or 19th. One day at the River one there. Hard to make a weekend out of high country. A few years back high county opening got them the 1st in Nh opening. I believe that will remain BW's title for a while know. Riv is correct on how they do it with the down loading. Stomoach Doc usually can give us an accurate update.

It would seem that waterville would have almost the perfect setup for early season.

Does anybody know the elevation range of the summit double? I would guess the base is about 3500 - 3600 and the summit about 3800 - 3900.

The northeast exposure would also hold snow well.

They have a snow boarding event next weekend. They have opened a small park on high country the last couple of years when they start. Does not seem un reasonable. I have been up there the last 3 weekends and they have had snow at top and it has snowed each weekend.

OK with the weather the way it has been the last week or so, NOW what chance do people give Waterville of opening November 18th as scheduled?

I had a great early season day at Waterville. The setup is indeed perfect.

On my day, the Northside Double was running and those trails were open with great, edge-to-edge-of-the-trail snow coverage. When you were finished skiing, you'd download on the White Peak Express Quad.

I did realize they trucked snow down. I thought it was just ice. I still love that Campton Upper village... still cracks me up. I guess I'm in the burbs.

Took a walk on Livermore road (in a T-shirt!) today and could see that High Country was down to 20' diameter spots of snow. On that vid it almost looked skiable as a continuous run. bleehhh...

haha... Don't want people to think I live in Beebe River, Chesleys, or Six Flags ;) Lower Village is nice, West Campton is nice up on Ellsworth Hill. Campton Hollow has some nice and some meth-lab looking houses. Beebe River looks cute from 93 (the village on the right after exit 27 as you cross the intervale) and is neat historically, but it is a very creepy hick ghetto-ish neighborhood if you ever drive down in there.
...Actually people in Campton look down on Thornton somewhat and definitely everyone around hates on "Tr-Ashland". Pretty funny as a newcomer, but after a while I've seen some of their points.
