Date(s) Skied: 3/4/06
Resort or Ski Area: Waterville Valley
Conditions: Powderish in the early am, Packed Powder, Ice, light snow all day (just got back about 20 minutes ago - see how dedicated I am
).
Trip Report:
Arrived at about 8am. Sorry, I'm bad about remembering all the run names, but I'll try. First run was the one down the main quad (White Caps -> Chute -> Lower White Caps) - the top triple to the summit was closed - early in the morning, the snow was great, nice and smooth run down. Ciao was extremely icy, as were True Grit and Gema. Upper Bobby's Run and Psyched looked like they were closed. Oblivion was a nice run - no real ice to speak of, and nice snow cover. Tippecanoe was also nice early before everyone started making tracks on it. All in all, a fun day, but definitely much smaller a mountain than I was expecting compared to Loon or Killington (I'd never been to Waterville before). Lots of people - lift lines were around 3 or so minutes, and it was extremely windy - 20-30mph gusts.
