How on earth that "Saved by the Bell" guy (Mario López) didn't totally lose it here is beyond me. She should have quit while she was ahead. Oh wait...this was a train wreck from the get-go...

I can only imagine the response if she had been asked which ski area in the East will be first to open this season.

I think what she was TRYING to say was that other countries and continents like south america and africa, do have maps (not that we don't) and their education system utilizes them more in a classroom environment that we do, and that we are too focused on iraq to teach the kiddies about our country. Still doesn't really make sense, but I think thats the direction she was going

But who knows, I don't speak blonde

In my first iteration of college I was studying for secondary education. We had to sit in on a lot of high school classes. During on biology class, they were discussing climates, and the teacher put up a world map without borders or names that just showed the climate bands. Neither she nor the students could pick out North Carolina, or the United States. When I pointed out that the area she was pointing to was actually India, she got defensive and claimed that I was wrong and really should study geography.

I became an avid supporter of teacher testing and strict qualification that day. I support more professional pay levels, too. I have a few ideas on where to find funding, but I don't want this to be political.
