What is your preference? Whiskey or whisky?

Firstly - Are we mature enough for this conversation?

Secondly do you prefer bourbon or scotch? and how do you enjoy it?

Me? I’m a sipper. I don’t knock’em back merely for effect. I prefer Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey. For scotch I like the heavily peated Port Charlotte 10. My favorite Irish is Redbreast 10. Anything older than ten my wallet gives out.

How ‘bout you?

Whisky (I'm lazy)

Bourbon. Just discovered Evan Williams 1.75L for under $30 at Total Wine. Before that it was anything Tennessee (got tired of asking for George Dickel only to get blank looks so just started asking for Jack Daniels). Will also scoop up Costco's Tennessee Bourbon if they are in stock.

Neat

I love a good thread revival..personally I prefer Bourbon. A Manhatten is often in order and a drink neat later. After years of the regular offerings I've now moved up a scale or two for the finer options..what a difference.

Just recently bought this cocktail book off Amazon and guess what page I happened to turn to first..yes, the Manhattan. The purchase was meant to be I guess.

Both are good in my book. I sometimes carry a flask skiing. Snowmonster used to offer a "sip to the snow gods" on our trips.

Last time I saw it was at the West Springfield store a couple of years ago. They carried it for several months but then no more :(.

Manhattan and Old Fashioned obviously are classics.

I am also going to put in a word for Kentucky Mule: Equal parts Ginger beer, bourbon, and freshly squeezed lime juice served in a copper mug. delicious.
