Time for a little prognostication. Now that the new lodge, hotel and ski valet are operating, what do you think Stowe is going to charge for a walk-up, adult, high-season, all day, all lift ticket this year?

Here's the track record:
$76 - 05-06
$76 - 06-07
$84 - 07-08
$?? - 08-09?

And some 07-08 context
$89 Vail
$87 Aspen
$81 Jackson Hole
$79 Killington
$78 Stratton
$74 Okemo
$73 Sugarbush
$69 Bretton Woods

I voted $85-87...Stowe has decent multi-day rates...and really good spring rates..anyway there are alot of things I spend $80+ dollars on and most of them aren't as steezy as a day at Stowe..

what I do know, is that I'll be there for at least one day. I paid $48 for it through my ski club.

I predict $89 for Stowe.

Vail/Beaver Creek was actually $92 this past season and I predict they will be the first to go over $100! Maybe not the coming season ($98-99), but definitely the 09-10 season.

Gas to and from Stowe for me is over $100...and it's well worth it..

i love the drive to stowe. around the NH the snow pack increases. when you on about to hit the high point on 89 around montpiler there is usually a snow squal. then when from the time you hit waterbury you just watch the snowpack on the side of the road increase till you get into town. sometime for nostalgia i take the short cut through moscow(was the i would use when i was going to work). i really need to get back on the snow. o and the ticket price doesn't reall make difference to me becuse its just me. if had to buy four it would be a different story.

A Few bucks is no big deal. The mountain is worth it. As Hardline mentioned, a family of 4 would suck, but it is worth the few days a year I get to go there.

$59 Alta ($5 for reusable Alta card, $54 for 1 day lift)
$40 Saddleback

Note that taking advantage of the Travelocity 1 day free deal on the Salt Lake Super Pass, you could get multi days at Alta as low as $39 /day last season.

Also, for the same $84 that Stowe charged for a lift ticket, you could have gotten a lift ticket, 1 hour private lesson, and 7 PBR tallboys at Saddleback.

I find it ironic that the resorts with the most non-skiing sources of revenue (condos, hotels, high end restaurants, shops, spas, etc) tend to charge way more for lift tickets than the areas that depend on lift tickets, rentals, and lessons for their revenue.
