This would be a damn fine candidate for a run this week. Lots of natural pow just sitting there.... I don't see any date other than "mid-December." I am happy to adopt the bastard child of Kmart.

Pico Mountain opens for the 2007-08 ski and snowboard season on Dec. 14th with three lifts serving top-to-bottom skiing and riding...

speaking of lots of natural pow just sitting there, there should be some nice stashes opening up at K when they open up ramshead this friday.

Pico opens Friday with the Golden Express, Summit Express and Bonanza Double. We're planning on having at least 10 trails (more if we get additional natural snow this week) open for Friday. We have pretty much rolled all the trails with cats, just need that little extra bit of natural and/or snowmaking to open. Right now we're still making snow on the upper part of the mountain and Middle Pike.
We'll have a new live webcam on the site - www.picomountain.com - this week.

Thanks. Is this like a big secret or something? I'm surprised there is no indication of opening day, given that it is now only three days away. All the better for me I guess. Will you promise not to "roll the trails" any more ?? I need another powder fix:smile:

flipped

This has been on the Killington--but not Pico--website for a few days now: http://www.killington.com/winter/media/pressrelease.html?pressrelease=pressrelease26.

Perhaps the new ownership assumes that people's interest in Pico derives primarily from their interest in Killington, rather than in Pico in its own right???

So I thought the same thing, searching around the kmart page for a Pico link finding the same PR as you. If a press release is the only linkage to Pico, it's pretty sad. Nothing on their main screen, or dropdown link to other affiliated.owned resorts, etc,, nothing in directory. My comment about Pico being a bastard child remains. It's almost as if they don't want to talk about it, at either site. Am I missing something here?
Again, lack of PR is OK with me, more for those of us who want to go there, but I begin to worry, how long will powdr financially prop them up????
