we're staying in Meredith tonight at my boss' house, where would be most reasonable tix and decent snow(decent snow more important) within 1-1.5 hrs, also looking ot avoid crowds if possible, seems Ragged doesn't have much to offer, how has Gunstock been? was thinking maybe Black in NH but not sure how conditions are there, any other ideas?

I'd go somewhere that had really good grooming equipment.
Cheap? We are coming off the holiday, some areas go back to standard rates on Sunday, some don't. Check out liftopia.com. You can get into Wildcat on Sunday for $42 (buy the ticket on the web today).

For good grooming, you could also consider Bretton Woods, Gunstock, Waterville or Loon for good groomers. You'll see crowds I suspect at Waterville, Gunstock and Loon.

Based on my Thursday world tour, the mid-sized mountains don't have a lot to offer right now, as much as I love them. I decided to sit out the weekend because of conditions.

Waterville, Bretton, and Loon would be your best options, IMO. Gunstock, Ragged, and Tenney are all really close but have limited terrain. If you want to stay local, Gunstock would probably offer the best product. Waterville is your closest 2k vert option.

2knees, powhunter and I will all be at Sunapee tomorrow skiing fresh bumps. There will be good grooming there for sure, but it'll probably be crowded.

I'll be at Gunstock because it's next door. If I had more time I'd head to Loon. Tomorrow will be my first day back after the Christmas Crash. Still not 100% which is why I'm only planning on staying a couple of hours.
