Thanks for all the helpful information, everyone. I really appreciate it.

Now let this warm weather pass and the snow return...

Meets the criteria of stumbling distance from beer/greasyfood - across from the Deacons Den....one of my favs!!!!

Quite true. The inn has it's own bar, pool table and polish restaurant. It's great for when I'm waiting for my wife to get ready to go out!

Rentals?

Thanks again for all the input, everyone.

One more question: since one of my friend's is leaving his skis back home, any recommendation for a convenient place to pick up rentals? We'd stop there Saturday morning on the way up and keep them through Sunday afternoon, so somewhere at or before Bennington (coming from NYC via Albany) would be ideal.

Thanks,
Michael

I'd suggest someplace closer to the mountains, if only because a typical rental shop won't be open that late Sunday afternoon. Have you decided for certain which hills you're going to hit?

One day we're using our free Stratton tickets. The other day will be a game-time-decision between Magic (snow permitting), Mt. Snow (seem to have the best snowmaking), or Bromley (Sunday morning ticket deal makes it easier to catch the Super Bowl without much of a Tivo time delay). We're staying near Mt. Snow Saturday night.

....or Joe Jones on rt. 100 in West Dover. I brought my friend there to rent skis once and he was happy with them.
