I think I would stay pretty much where I'm at. I just counted, and I have 12 mountains within 1.5 hours drive from my house. Ski all winter, ride motorcycle all summer. And drink beer year round!!!!

Well... I think I would pick my condo in Vermont.

Actually, I may already have done it.

Depends on if things work they way the've been planned out, but I quit my Mass life and moved into my place up here.

I have no job, and am not really intending on getting one.

A little early for retirement... as I'm only 54. (How many of you are gagging at the term "only 54"?) So I refer to it as having quit my life.

This is a tough one. I would choose Sarasota, FL. Not on the beach, but inland. My other choice would be Newport / Derby, VT.

...That's an interesting question...VT, CO, SLC area, and upstate NY come to mind. If I could find a real deal around Lake Tahoe....I could put up with that. There are some areas in Maine too.. Gotta luv those blackflies eh' loafer89...

I wasn't much of a beach person until I took two trips to Ft. Myers Beach. I'd retire there for the winter if I could afford a place right on the beach. I've seen sunsets from Mt. Liberty, and sunsets from the shoreline, and the shoreline wins by a hair. But, I'd have my arse out of there when the hurricanes come....

...which leads me to my summer home. I'd have a place in the whites (or just north of there) on a huge tract of land, and possible where the only access is by boot or dogsled. Will Steger once commented it took a long time getting used to the road he built to get to his house. Said he liked the old foot path much better. I'd like to have that kind of problem.
