Whistler in April?

Still trying to plan a western ski vacation I can't afford and started to focus hard on Whistler. The March prices are the most expensive, I've learned. Is there any downside to going in April? Will there be less snow (stupid question maybe but I honestly have no idea) or do they shut down parts of the mountain to cut costs in April?

This makes me look at more practical options like Salt Lake but Whistler seems like the way to go if I'm going to drop a ton of cash anyway. Any suggestions/thoughts are appreciated.

Go in April. Not only will there still be plenty of snow, they run the WSI (or whatever the event is called) the second week of April, and from what I hear, it's a non stop party. Tons of Canadians, Australians & Kiwis - three countries that know how to have a good time.

Go in April, it'll be sweet.

Dude this year you could book a trip to whistler in may and have great conditions. They have like a 200 cm Base already. That's like 8-9 feet.

Blackcomb Mtn. closes before Whistler Peak. Last year I think the Blackcomb closing date was 4/27. You might want to search and see what their closing dates have been over the last few years. You'll want to go while both peaks are open. I doubt this would be any issue in the first half of April, but the last week might be iffy.
