LAKE PLACID, New York — The Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) announced Wednesday that Whiteface and Gore Mountain will re-open this weekend April 16-17 for a final weekend of spring skiing and riding.

At Whiteface, spring skiing and riding conditions are excellent for the expert skier and rider. Skiers and riders might encounter some bare spots and walking may be involved. The anticipated trails are Approach, Upper and Lower Wilderness, Mountain Run, Thruway, Excelsior, Summit Express, Easy Street to Mid-Station, Upper Skyward, Weber's Way, Lower Cloudspin, Lower Skyward, Terrain Park and Half Pipe (uphill walking involved). Access to these trails will be via the Cloudsplitter gondola, Little Whiteface and the Summit Quad with downloading from the gondola.

For those not hitting the slopes, scenic gondola rides will be available for $12. The outdoor bar-b-que will be fired up at that base lodge for spectacular spring après ski enjoyment.

Spring skiing rates for Whiteface are $25 for adults, $15 for juniors (7-12). Hours are 8:30 am – 4 pm both days. For more information, please log on to www.whitefacelakeplacid.com.
