Date(s) Hiked: 10/28/06
Trails(s) Hiked: Blue Berry Ledge, Rollins, Dicey Mill.
Total Distance: 11.9 miles
Difficulty: Very Hard
Conditions: Winter wonderland until 9 am when it started to rain then it was a SLUSHY NIGHTMARE
Special Required Equipment: Stabicers are vital for climbing the rocks before Whiteface Summit.
Trip Report:
What a wild hike. So many different forms of precipitation! Rain, Ice, Mixed rain/Snow, Mixed Ice/Snow, Heavy Snow, Powder Snow. It precipitated the entire time too. It was beautiful on Whiteface with all the powdery snow. By the time I got to Passaconaway the snow got wetter and heavier. I made a snowman at the summit! Between 3000 and 2000 on Dicey Mill on the trip back to my car it was 100% Slush which ABSOLUTELY SUCKED. Enjoy! Glad I had a poncho!
