In the East, it might warm up, rain, freeze, turn into ice, can't make snow because of a lot of reasons, etc. We all have to sit on the edge and try to figure out WHEN and WHERE to go. It is exhausting. :sadwalk:

Tell me about it..in the past week we've had a blizzard, perfect ski condition, then rain, then sub freezing temps, ice and now MORE rain! You bet I'm exhausted! Now I'm hoping there will be something left to ski on after this weekend when I head up to Killington on Monday.

Fortunately I'm self employed and can take off mid week and I try and keep things flexible during January and esp February so when a snowstorm hits I can head north. Last year I lucked out and drove up thru a snowstorm to Gore and skied on pow for 2 days before it ONCE AGAIN warmed up and melted it all away.

I was probably there. I think I caught every mid week powder day at Gore last year. Some of the best skiing I've had.

Because it is fun.. and we live here. Getting out in winter is so much better then watching tv. Sex is great hopefully you love the other person. Why complain about the east so much it an beautiful place to be. I love the Catskills and all of our hills. After rain and freeze up then wait a week and go to place that makes good snow and hopefully you enjoy like having sex with some who is over weight who cares prejudices?

Perfectly said....

Last year I spent Valentine's Day skiing at Hunter after filing for divorce a month earlier. I paid for the trip with the money I got selling my engagement and wedding rings. ;) I had a MUCH better time than I ever did spending Valentine's Day with my ex. They were having wedding ceremonies at the summit and I kept saying "NO way, never again!" as I enjoyed some great skiing. Hope to do it again this year.;)

No truer words were ever said. We'll be heading west one of these days too.

There's a lot of good reasons to leave NJ and head out west beside the skiing. I've been wanting to get out of here for years. Just waiting for my daughter to graduate college in 2016. Time for a new life and have always wanted to "go west".:)

Well asynchronous as I would like tondo the same - out plans call for living on the Cape during the summer and in the mountains during the winter! So I will still ski the east I am happy with want we have! Skiing else where will be bucket list material!

Second choice for living somewhere else would be Northern New England. :) I've lived by the beach my entire life, which is ironic because I love the mountains. As a kid I wanted to live in Vermont. Sure wish I'd listened to myself then I wouldn't be stuck here.

One can only move forward..

I have no desire to move out West even if the skiing is exponentially better much of the time.

It's home.
Quite!

Two nights before I boarded a plane to go out to ski Colorado, I went to a concert in Lincoln Center of Ann Sophie Mutter performing Brahm's violin concerto. I wouldn't have half of that if I moved to live in Colorado.

There're a lot of other reasons living in the east is better. Skiing isn't one of such but we can still go skiing when the weather cooperates. Scotty puts it quite rightly, our overweight lover has a lot more quality to love, and the sex is still fantastic!

Sorry about your ex. I was just making fun of someone else in a different thread with sex talk. Sex is great but dealing with the opposite sex can make a person go nuts.

Well, the sex wasn't that great with my ex and being married to him drove me nuts! I'm not sorry to see him go! Life is MUCH better as a single person!

I hope to be back on the slopes again this Valentine's Day. Best gift ever would be a blizzard the Wednesday before!
