... 'cause I learned in that other thread that people are more likely to read TRs if they have videos and pix ...
Date(s) Skied: 2/20/09
Resort or Ski Area: Wildcat, NH
Conditions: 2" fresh on top of 13" the day before. Mostly chowder & creamy groomed PP, some freshies. Temps peaked near 30 at the base but were about 15-20 degrees colder at the summit. Little wind except for some gustiness mid-afternoon. Partly to mostly cloudy and frequent light snowshowers at higher elevations.
Trip Report: Great day all around as I and my two boys hooked up with an old college pal (AZ poster Andrew Caffrey) and his snowboarding son and an old work colleague and his skiing son. A great group and we hit pretty much everything Wildcat had to offer. One pic showing five of the seven of us with Mt Washington shrouded in clouds in the background:
ROTDs came in the afternon, Lift Lion to Black Cat to Catacomb Glades to what I think was the bottom of Panther ... and this blessed scene:
Ski patroller dropping rope on steep, lightly poached run under the lower part of the HSQ. It wasn't nearly so lightly tracked out by the time we got three runs out of it.
Aside from our group we saw a number of other people we knew ... our next-door neighbors (second time we've run into them up there, 3 hrs from home), another kid on my older son's basketball team, one of his teachers, and as Billski mentioned in his TR, Billski.
FUN!
