Anyone ever done the 100,000 VF challenge at Wildcat for Make a Wish. Scheduled for 3/2 -- I guess it takes 48 t2b runs to reach the goal- that is an insane number of runs for one day. My very limited understanding is that it is (if you have the legs, a BIG if), doable cutting the lift lines and eating/hydrating on the chair up. Am thinking about giving it a go (no expectation of doing the 100,000- but just seeing how much I can do)-- it is for a great cause.

Wow, 48 T2B runs at Wildcat to do 100K VF is pretty impressive! I am interested in doing that!

A few years ago my work did a fundraiser for Easter Seals and you could be sponsored for the day or by the run. I did 36 runs at Loon with about 15 off of the Kanc Quad. The rest were from North Peak to the bottom.

48, this will be a great challenge!

48 runs x 6 minute lift ride, add a couple of minutes for the occasional wait a few seconds to load/the occasional time that the inevitable stop will occur, and your looking at about 5 hours of chair riding time. That takes out from 7:30 to 12:30. That gives you 4 hours then to ski Lynx 48 times which is a 5 minute average lap. Doable, yup. Powder day condtions might kill you on the speed factor though to average the 5 minute lap as Riv alluded too.

My legs are tired just thinking about it. My guess is though that if it was a nice day, the view of Tucks on run 48 would be just a great as on run 1 :) That's a view that i never get tired of!

If I didn't have class I would consider attempting this... maybe next year I will skip class and try it anyways, goes to a good cause... just need to get in shape beforehand.

I've thought about this evver since I heard about it about four years ago.

I'll never make the full 48...but as some have said above....it's a great cause an dan interesting personal challenge.

Yes, it's Lynx...only event participants are on the trail...you get priority on the lift (your bib ID's you as a participant)....and Dr Jeff has it right....pretty much non-stop to get the 48.

Every year they get a dozen or less 100,000 ft achievers. The web site probably has last year's pics and winners.

There's an event afterwards if your able to crawl to it. :>

I'll have to see what my schedule looks like as the day grows closer. I'm guessing it's a Monday again.
