Here's a TR by Martin Griff, a ski blogger here in the flatlands-
Last tracks were first tracks at Wildcat
Was it worth the 10-hour drive in a snowstorm last Thursday night to get to Wildcat in northern New Hampshire?
Absolutely.
While Friday's snowy predictions for New Jersey thankfully turned out to be an April Fools Day joke, they were right on in the Granite State and although snow from central Massachusetts on up added a couple hours to the drive, it made for an awesome day across from Mount Washington, the tallest mountain in the Northeast. About 5 years ago I started claiming that one of the best ski days I ever had was at Wildcat, which sits in an undeveloped area in Pinkham Notch, between lodging options in Jackson, nine miles to the south, and Gorham, nine miles to the north. As of April 1, I can say that two of my best ski days ever were at Wildcat.
