Hello,

I am new to this forum. I am heading up to Windham next week for the first time. After dealing with night skiing at Camelback long enough I am excited to try terrain that is not a sheet of ice.

I am a advanced intermediate who can ski Double Blue at Camelback easily and all the blues that Hunter has to offer. Therefore, what are the best lues at Windham and what are there easier Blacks because I plan on hitting some of them up if the conditions are good?

Thanks alot!

My recommendations:
(Note: Before following, take a good look at my avatar and proceed at your own risk)

BLUES:
Upper/Lower Whistler -- most heavily traveled, Tends to get skied off.
Upper Wiseacres, Upper Warpath -- appear to be partially groomed, partially bumped according to their website.
Upper Wraparound -- can be fun if you cut the corners on it
Lower Wipeout -- a natural snow trail normally left ungroomed (although it appears that they have groomed it.

Haven't been there yet this year and don't know what the new trail from the eastern peak is like, but since it's next to the most difficult of the three blacks, I suspect it's a darker shade of blue.

BLACKS:

Upper Wolverine
Why Not

Anybody have better advice before I get him killed??

if hes going at night almost none of that will be open they have very limited night skiing. Probably a couple parks and a couple easy trails. But if hes going during the day those should all be good except upper wolverine is a double black and will probably have moguls on it. Also the new trail is alot of fun i think it is a blue, but in some parts its real narrow which makes it more fun.

. . . except upper wolverine is a double black and will probably have moguls on it.

Checked their interactive trailmap again and you're right -- Upper Wolverine IS rated double black. However, if my (admittedly ethanol and cannabinoid damaged) memories of my terminal intermediate days serve me correctly, Upper Wolverine does get groomed fairly often (they're showing it as groomed and not moguled right now) and, if not icy, skis more like a single black.

Then again, who knows what conditions will be like next week, and unfortunately there's no good way to get a look at that trail from a lift.

Spresso81, ask someone on the ski patrol about the trail's condition when you get there and if you have any doubts, well, discretion is the better part of valor.
