I started that same program in 1988 and never finished it due to buying a fixer-upper house and then the birth of my first daughter. Do yourself a favor and complete the program - I wish I did....

Congrats...I just graduated this year too but I opted for the job route to make some money and pay off my 25k in loans from undergrad. Another plus is that Raytheon will pay for my grad degree at Brandeis starting in the fall.

Added bonus- just found out I got a Dean's Scholarship, though the only detail I know about it is that they're "very generous". i like the sound of that.

skibum- my advice is, take advantage of Raytheon's generosity, as soon as you possibly can.

Which Raytheon, the one off of 93 in MA? I have a buddy that works there if that is the case.

I work at the one off 495 in Tewksbury. The Woburn one is pretty sweet though - much nicer than the others.

Congrats! You won't be sorry n the long run. In my experience, a "Dean's scholarship" usually means a decent hunk of $$$. I wish I had stayed at my old job at WPI. They allowed employees to take any classes they wanted for free and I could have worked my way up through PhD on their dime. They also paid for your kids to go there too but alas kids and houses got in the way and I had to change to a higher paying job to pay the bills. :idea: I may try to go back in another 8-10 years if I can find an opening so that the boy can go for free.

WPI's a class-A school for engineering. Getting back in there's a good plan for saving huge cash on your son's tuition.

I think I checked the mailbox 87 times over the weekend looking for the award letter. I know, mail doesn't come on Sundays...
