I've been following updates from day 8 of the World Series of Poker. Today the final 27 play down to the final table of 9..who will rebag their chips, and return in November to play the final table. They used that format for the first time last year as a ratings booster..with each player was guarenteed at least a million with Peter Eastgate winning $8.500,000 USD..down from the $12 million Jamie Gold was awarded for winning in 2006 against the largest field in WSOP history..over 8,000. Notables such as Phil Ivey and Antonio Esfandiari are still in it but unfortunately there are no remaining female players. I'm definitely planning on playing the Main Event of the World Series of Poker sometime in the near future. Yes the buy-in is $10,000 and the competition is fierce but with a 300 big blind starting chipstack..even a donk like me has a shot..

The final table is set..the chip leader....Moon..is an amateur and won his seat through a free bar-room poker league...amazing...What I wouldn't give to have 58 million chips going into the final table

Chip Counts:

1. Darvin Moon – 58,930,000
2. Eric Buchman – 34,800,000
3. Steven Begleiter – 29,885,000
4. Jeff Shulman – 19,580,000
5. Joe Cada – 13,215,000
6. Kevin Schaffel – 12,390,000
7. Phil Ivey – 9,765,000
8. Antoine Saout – 9,500,000
9. James Akenhead – 6,800,000

Nice---guess I had the wrong major in college after all

well he's a degenerate gambler..he does rock paper scissers for $500...and has gone broke many times..he does well in poker tournements but sports betting and the pit(Blackjack, Craps and Roulette) are his downfalls..he coaches Shannon Elizabeth(from American Pie) on how to play poker and got to go to a party at the playboy mansion so it's not all bad.

I wish he would update his blog sometime soon..I like to live vicariously through his adventures in Vegas..

Would like to see Ivey win a braclet but that chip lead is just way too much to overcome. As long as Hellmuth doesn't win, I don't care.
