I've been following updates from day 8 of the World Series of Poker. Today the final 27 play down to the final table of 9..who will rebag their chips, and return in November to play the final table. They used that format for the first time last year as a ratings booster..with each player was guarenteed at least a million with Peter Eastgate winning $8.500,000 USD..down from the $12 million Jamie Gold was awarded for winning in 2006 against the largest field in WSOP history..over 8,000. Notables such as Phil Ivey and Antonio Esfandiari are still in it but unfortunately there are no remaining female players. I'm definitely planning on playing the Main Event of the World Series of Poker sometime in the near future. Yes the buy-in is $10,000 and the competition is fierce but with a 300 big blind starting chipstack..even a donk like me has a shot..
