1) Park City (Canyons) - 1/02 holy hell it's terrible, but kid's clinics start this weekend & wanted to get the little a day on snow prior
2) Park City (Canyons) - 1/03 the first legitimate east coast conditions I've experienced in Utah. Brought back memories
3) Park City (Canyons) - 1/09 took 4 after school runs with the wife & little one on blue groomers. Conditions better after the recent snow, still not great.
4) Park City (Canyons) - 1/10 bizarrely empty! Conditions much improved. Powder in the trees. Lord, it feels like ski season finally.
5) Park City (Park City) - 1/17 MLK Friday & empty! Icy moguls, steep groomers icy, groomed beginner & intermediate terrain was okay.
6) Park City (Park City) - 1/23 Took the little one up McConkey's for the first time for some Georgeanna & Powder Monkey fun. Snow's good (not sure how).
7) Park City (Canyons) - 1/24 Empty. Even more bizarrely so than MLK weekend. Literally the only person on multiple trails. Ski on all day. On SATURDAY!

Snowed in the notch pretty much the whole time there. Some thin spots on natural trails but overall everything was skiing great. First time skiing Kinsman in at least a decade. Mittersill was definitely the highlight of the day. Monday and Tuesday will be really good after the storm.

Wildcat and Jay closed today due to insane temps, but not Cannon , starting the day at -20 at the summit. That is nuts to me, poor lifties.

i dont really like posting new threads, so this goes here.

where should i ski tomorrow (tuesday 1/27). ikon and indy. coming from mid-hudson valley. options include:
- Killington
- Stratton
- Ragged (never been)
- Sugarbush
- Middlebury (are they even open on a Tuesday + not sure if today is the right day)
- Berkshire East

killington is in the lead because a mid-week killington is rare for me, and i expect this weekend to be quite crowded, so maybe ragged is better for sat?

Come to Cannon!

(I know that's too far for a day trip for you...agreed that Killington is probably your best bet).

ragged is probably about as good as it gets right now. It is a completely different place when the woods are wide open.

Incredible day. The mountain was as busy as I have ever seen it since reopening. Parking lot looked full and there was actually a 10-20 chair wait at the Hornet! Even with it being busier than normal, I skied nonstop 9-3:30 and found untracked lines every run. Mainly from the glade between Sweet William and Sunflower. Forget-Me-Not and the Hornet liftline were other notably fun runs to lap today. Now on to Mt. Abram tomorrow for a bonus day.

7. 1/26 SR. Absolutely amazing. Rare to get this type of dry blower powder out here, but we did. First several runs were legit face shots from the billowing smoke as you went. Been several years since I've scored this quality snow.

Bretton Woods was all time yesterday. 8” in the morning felt more like a foot and they got another 5-7 overnight. Today is going to be unreal but I won’t be getting to the mountain until lunch.

Somehow even better than yesterday. The mountain opened for a bonus day today with limited operations (just the Wayback Machine lift from 10-3), minimal grooming, and a max of 200 tickets to be sold (no Indy redemptions). Resulting in a very quiet powder day with all mainside terrain open. Runs of the day were in the woods off Rocky’s. Tons of different lines in this glade. Most of which went untouched all day. Overall a stellar day, doesn’t get much better.

8. 1/27 SR. Another great day, started low on Little WC. When those glasses are loaded and fresh, you know we really got the goods. Another stellar day and the groomers first thing, wow.

1. 12/5 - Stratton - solid corduroy and upper standard and liftline open on natural. Solid opener
2, 12/6 - Killington - full day at K. Suprisingly good naturals. Ended the day with hippie pow laps at RH.
3. 12/7 - Stratton - 7:45 to 10 early up for Ikoners. 10 laps and then got the fuck out when the masses came online.
4. 12/17 - Stratton
5. 12/18 - Sugarbush
6. 12/19 - Magic
7. 12/31 - Stratton
8. 1/1 - Magic
9. 1/2 - Pico - always a fun day at pico
10. 1/7 - Jay - first time there since just after college. Mini pow day

jay for az.jpg

11. 1/8 - Sugarbush - Caught the opening of NL. Fresh laps on Sunrise before NL broke
12. 1/9 - Magic - Open Naturals had surprisingly good coverage
13. 1/22 - Jay Peak - Snow , snow, snow and wind wind wind - no tram. All trees all the time.
14. 1/23 - Jay Peak - more snow on and off. Tram was running today.
15. 1/25 - Magic sunday as the storm rolled in. Great afternoon as the fluffy snow piled up. Magic uncharacteristically slow opening routes. had to explore a bit
16. 1/26 - Stratton - Pow day at Stratton. Shitshow morning turned into an absolutely great afternoon once summit lifts were opened and people left.

Forgot about this thread. Had to catch up a bit.
