Part of me wanted to get out yesterday because I was off, but no one in southern VT has anywhere near enough terrain open for it to have been worth driving up and back in the storm.

Weather permitting, next chance is next Tuesday. Hoping Mt Snow has a couple North Face trails open by then. Maybe take the long ride to Stowe for a day trip...not sure yet.

Yeah all 3 of Mt Snow, Stratton, and Okemo are pretty frustrating early season if it's not a big dump. My Facebook memories today from 2019 were at Mt Snow after a 3 foot dump. Whole North Face including woods was just insane that day.

and then stratton grooms down the entire 12 inch dump by this morning obviously

I mean, this time of year that's precisely what they should be doing.

Reversion to the mean is a real thing & there's still over 4 months of ski season left (i.e. basically the entire thing). Mashing everything you get now could really help out if there's a 2 week January thaw or something.

its par for the stratton course and yea thats what they should do to lock in the early season snowfall into the base. but come on, keep one route or half a route that alreayd had a snowmaking base fresh so that the diehards who come out on a december 3 weekday can have a couple of laps of powder skiing at open

1) Killington 11/18/25
2) Killington 11/19
3) Belleayre 11/21
4) Belleayre 11/28
5) Belleayre 11/30
6) Belleayre 12/5

Belle received about 10" of snow on Tuesday and they've been going nuts with snowmaking too. Good conditions today, Onteora was the ROTD with a nice bump line skiers left top to bottom. Yahoo and Winnisook looked ready to come online this weekend.

Day 1 at Pleasant Mt yesterday. First time opening from the summit on day 1. Very busy but hopefully they open a couple more runs today.

1. 12/5 - Stratton - solid corduroy and upper standard and liftline open on natural. Solid opener
2, 12/6 - Killington - full day at K. Suprisingly good naturals. Ended the day with hippie pow laps at RH.
3. 12/7 - Stratton - 7:45 to 10 early up for Ikoners. 10 laps and then got the fuck out when the masses came online.

Today is day #20. A couple at SR, the rest split between loon and cannon. Been the best start to a season in the whites that I can remember. Forecast looks to keep the cold air around for awhile.
