As far as fighting, bitching, banning and all around general complaining I think this has been the worst off season (skiing) in all the years I’ve posted here. I’m not saying I wasn’t part of the problem for awhile cause I know I was.

Posting/lurking on AZ is part of my daily routine as it is with a lot of people. I think when ski season ends people can’t let go of that part of their routine, there’s not much to talk about after awhile, nerves get frayed and people start fighting.

I get that, I’m not sure why it was so bad this off season compared to past ones. Something changed, just not sure what.

I'm with you. I was pretty inactive this summer on this forum because I didn't want to get involved in a lot of the bitching / infighting going on, and for a while it's all there has been.

Bring on the snow.

I agree. I'd have to say the bad economy and the crummy weather up here have not helped. Every summer things get nasty, but this year has been really  at times.

So here is what I've heard: it is going to get cold here in VT this weekend. They are even saying it will be cold enough maybe for some flakes of :snow: up high.

Agreed. A weird evolution this summer. Interesting social experiment, I guess.

Anyway, my summer has been awesome! I haven't really been jonesing to ski at all. Haven't done as much MTB as I would have liked, but I still have 2 months to ride. Our neighborhood has turned into one big party this summer. Like a revolving door drink fest at all our houses. I also started seriously playing guitar again and started a band with other guys in the neighborhood. Just for fun still, but I think we're starting to sound a little better. My youngest is 3 1/2 and my oldest is 6 so it's been a blast watching them play with all the neighbor kids. Had a great week-long vacation at the Cape with them and my wife and I went to Jamaica for 5 days with 4 other couples. That was a blast!

Besides all that work was busy this summer so I haven't been posting much, but I plan to ramp it up as we get closer to ski season. Only 2 months away. Speculating on when snow making will start and waiting for the first substantial snow fall are some of my favorite topics that are discussed here.

I don't get the griping either. I have a summer activity that keeps me occupied so I enjoy the warm weather months anyway, but I can't help looking ahead. I don't know what it is, call it a gut feeling, but I have a feeling we could be in for a great winter this year. NOAA aside most of the predictions I've seen are pointing in a good direction. We're due for a good storm track up the east coast after a couple of years of La Nina which is not favorable to Noreasters. Plans I am making seem to be falling together and including Stratton early Dec with my sons ski team, Mt Snow over New Years, and polishing off the season in Utah Easter week. Camelback of course is home sweet home and I get to hit Jack Frost, Blue and Sno on race days along with a couple of trips to Elk and Plattekill. That leaves Pres Day weekend to plan and a visit to the mighty Sundown to hang with some AZ bumpers. The future's so bright I gotta wear shades.

I think we need more new members...seems like the same people (myself included) have been around long enough to get bored and antsy.

Way too much drama around here.

Yeah, I agree with you.

The economy hurts a bit.

I've been really busy too with work and the house which we are completely repainting and redoing inside. I have not had as much time to post, not that my posting anything would have made things any better.

I think I needed a break and now I'm pretty psyched about the coming season. Been working out in earnest and that always makes me feel 100% better too.

Good thread Skip.

PMS. Everyone's got PMS. Yeah....that's it. Has to be.

I only come back when I start jonesing for snow. Too much other stuff going on to worry about the interwebs.

But man, you guys are just plain NUTS lately!

I miss you playing softball too. You're a lot more civil when getting beaned upside the head.

Eh. It just seems worse because there are more personalities posting and a few personalities took some things too far. There are actually a lot of really good conversations going on if you just skip over the junk. I don't think so much that summer brings out the worst but rather that winter brings out the best. We all can do very uncharacteristic things behind a monitor and keyboard if provoked enough. Just a little more provocation than usual but I certainly wouldn't say it is any worse than usual except for some stand outs. Then again, I try to bow out of threads when they get ugly and entirely skip the mud racking threads so maybe I am just not seeing it.

Upon some reflection last night after I turned the laptop off, this is really true.

This morning was cool and crisp.

60 days or less and counting...Fall is basically here. Trees losing leaves at an accelerating pace.

More ski dreams this past week. Funny how my body and mind get ramped up to ski.

The peripheral drama just doesn't make an impact anymore and if it does something is wrong.
