After that giant storm on Tuesday last week
I was lucky enough to have a VT trip planned to 3 mountains that I had never been to before.
We made Bolton Valley the home base and skied there, Jay, and MRG.
Bolton was outstanding. If I had to guess, their clientile doesn't venture into the trees often. The low grade stuff was very good, the chutes and steeper trees still had plenty of fresh lines in them- 4 days after the storm!!
I ventured off following someones tracks and found the "snow hole." Man, that was fun.

Timberline lift held some great skiing. The Lost Boys and Adams Solitude were outstanding runs. Even the run out for Adam's was kinda fun to haul ass though with all the whoop-de-doos. The ride down the glade itself still had soft landings for the cliffs and drops. The ladies tee options were getting a little carved out though.
The sky was this impossible color of blue.
Sunday we treked up to Jay. Wow- thats a helluva ride!
We lapped Zoomer all morning getting after the trees just off the trail under the lift. Tight, technical runs, but LOADS of good snow in there. No reason it shouldn't be there this weekend, too.

Monday brought more blue skies and some 43 degree temps at MRG. This was my first visit to MRG, and man, was it fun! However, very few fresh lines available, and lots of "well, thats the only way down" skiing. Bumps, though super soft, were large. The rhythm and steep pitch was perfect for them. I actually felt like I know what the hell I was doing. Though, I'd of loved to ski the Wednesday powder day there. The main attractions were pretty tired and skied out, but little stashes were still a blast, pending that you don't find yourself on a cliff.
The actual defined/windy trails were in very good shape.

Looking back up the same area. What you can't see is that behind those big bumps are huge patches of rocks, stumps, and bare ground.
Soft bumps all the way down Lynx and Beaver were a blast. Catamount was also fantastic.

Overall, a fantastic trip. Hope this helps some folks decide this weekend!
