Mount Sunapee – Newbury New Hampshire

Weather Conditions: 5°-10° Peak and 10°-20° Base Cloudy, Sunny, Cloudy & Snowing. COLD!

Most people were wearing arctic parkas and face masks.

The trails that have snowmaking are open and in GREAT shape. Typical Mount Sunapee/Okemo GROOMED conditions with a touch of natural snow fall from the evening…in other words a carvers dream!

Their snowmaking has made up for a lack of cold winter snowfall. Their glade trails are in need of natural snow and all the usual openings into them were securely roped off with the Ski Patrol keeping an eye on them.

They have expanded the Terrain Park to include more rails, slides and trick jumps and they were blasting it with snowmaking all day long.

The bumps on Upper Flying Goose were icy and not any fun, however the bumps on Lift Line were perfect. Greg would have like them very much!

Even though it was 2-for-1 Wednesday, I believe because of the cold weather, the place was empty. All chairs were running and not even a hint of a line…

The summit lodge had good soup & chili as well as hot chocolate for the frozen boys & girls of winter to enjoy. I’ll be back there for more of the Wednesday Specials.
