Trail(s) Hiked: Red to Blue

Total Distance Traveled: 12.8 Miles

Difficulty: Moderate - Difficult some scrambles and it is a long hike with ~3000 verticle

Conditions: Good

Special Equipment Required: Hiking pole

Trip Report: Beautiful weather, wild flowers in bloom, black flies were reasonable and a faitly empty trail. this is a long hike that rolls along the ridge making up the Tongue Mountain range. We saw no hikers for the first seven miles, the trail looked sparsely used, then encountered some people hiking up from docked boats and we saw a few more people on the last five miles which are the flats along the bay on the return to the car. I was hoping to see some snakes, but no on Saturday. Great views of the lake, Green Mountains and the high peaks of the Adirondacks. Gore still had snow on a few runs near the summit.
