A-basin 3/7/15

Well, I finally made it to CO! A little bummed I didn't stick to my original plan of doing the Snowsports Week at Taos, they did get 44" Saturday, oh well, such is a skier's life. Skiing on the season pass I bought last May, day 6, $279. I may still take advantage of the 3 tickets to Taos that came with it, not sure yet. Snoseek? Anyway, I hadn't planned on skiing today, but my Son had to work, and I had to experience Saturday morning I70 traffic for myself, holy shit! Really wasn't that bad once you get away from Denver. Beautiful day here, 30°, not a cloud in the sky. At the mid mountain lodge now having brunch, Black Mountain Burger, pretty good. I'll probably ski a couple more hrs and head for Boulder.

Looks sweet. How far of a drive is it from there to Taos and how long will you be out west?

Taos is 5.5-6 hours from Denver

Wow, knees are a little tender after today, skied a lot of bumps. Hope they hold up, this getting old shit isn't for pussies. Hit one of the two Boulder YMCA's for the spa half of the poor man's ski vacation, sleeping on my Son's couch is the other half. Sauna, pool, hot tub, repeat. They honor memberships from other Y's for 11 visits, but I doubt they check that stat. Proud of myself for remembering swim trunks, let's see, I'm going skiing, what do I need? Swim trunks don't pop into your mind.

Funny, I told myself "Western bumps are great, no icy troughs...just like back home this year." How rare is that?



Cool bike/walking paths I was unaware of in Boulder, nice to get away from the traffic, there's a lot.
