Assos rS.sturmPrinz Jacket - Men's
Assos' engineers knew that if their rain jacket design was going to wear the revered Assos badge, it would have be light, packable, highly protective, and, most importantly, fit perfectly. The result of their efforts was the well-received original rS.sturmPrinz Jacket. This updated version has been tweaked to perfectly mate with the iJ.tiBuru for cold winter riding conditions, making it the ultimate protective outer shell.
Assos started with the idea that an effective rain jacket has to be waterproof and work for cyclists riding hard in the worst conditions. But most importantly, it must fit like an Assos top. The question was how to accomplish this. To start, the engineers created new fabrics " Triton V1 and Triton V2. Triton V1 is the tougher, heavier, more waterproof fabric, and it was used for the front panels. Triton V2 is lighter and more breathable and was used in back. The Swiss-made Triton fabric is a temperature-sensitive waterproof-breathable membrane. This means that when it's cold, the membrane is less breathable, which is good, as it will help hold in your body heat. When it's warm, the membrane is more breathable, and it will help vent sweat vapor.
On the sides of the rS.sturmPrinz, the airVent system further helps vent sweat and keep your core temperature stable and comfortable. On the inside, you'll see that the seams are sealed, so no water is able get in where fabric panels join. There's also a vent parallel with the shoulder blades that helps vapor exit at this zone. The wrists and neck have adjustable seals so you can tighten them to keep out the cold and wet or loosen them to get a little additional venting. This way you're able to always have a customized fit to suit your preferences and conditions.
At the back of the jacket, you'll see a center pocket, sealed with a reflective zipper. On either side are pocket flaps that work both as vents and as access points to your jersey pockets underneath. And when the rain ends and the sun decides to pop out, the jacket is light enough to stow in a jersey pocket.
The Assos rS.sturmPrinz Jacket - Men's is available in seven sizes from X-Small to TIR and in the color Black Volkanga. Please note that Assos' XLG equates to XX-Large, and TIR is the same as the XLG but slightly wider throughout.
