I love the comments following the article.

I hate the idea of GMO in our food supply...but like the article states, it's already there. The only way to escape is to eat exclusively organic, since there is no labeling for GMO but organic products are not usually such. (And that's one of the reasons why I was buying organic when I could afford it.) Or you have to grow and raise all of your own food supply.

Freaky to think of what the future holds.

I grew up watching my grandma go through the whole chicken process - from egg to frying pan..

Man-made chemicals in food packaging and baby bottles get me worked up, but speeding up the genetic engineering to get a better, more efficient and productive food supply? Not as much.

We have committed to raising chickens next year. Maybe a couple pigs too. Fortunately we have the space to do that and not bother any neighbors. I look forward to reaping our rewards on that project!
