Loon is asking for permission to demolish the competition center and rental building at West Basin in the summer of 2024 and replace them with a new west base lodge that will take 18 months to construct. Utility and road work to “hopefully begin this summer.” Has anyone heard more on this project beyond what’s in Loon’s master plan?

They talk about it in the Storm podcast Loon Episode. At the time of the episode they did not know whether the new lodge will be a complete replacement of the existing Governors Lodge, or just a very large expansion of the existing lodge. The work has to take place west of the current lodge as similar to K1 construction is going to take multiple years, and the are going to need to use the existing lodge during construction.

SL changed their west mountain map to include a top to bottom 'chipper', within weeks of sister mountain announcing the same name for a top to bottom trail on their expansion.

Interesting that Undercut still shows as a glade. I thought they were clearing that out as a full cut trail and adding Snowmaking?

Kind of weird that Stinger is divided into Upper and Lower and Chipper isn't.

Just a guess, but the grading of Escape Route cutting across Stinger, might interrupt the trail into a distinct top and bottom half, where Chipper might flow through all of its intersections.

It's pretty cool to see Boyne undertake terrain expansions at all 3 of their major Northeastern properties. Haven't seen that in a long time....

Apparently the learners pod stretches Loon's total Vertical too. They now have the most vertical drop in NH at 2190, 10 feet more than Cannon. Of course, there is no physical way to ski/ride it all at once since there is no skiing between South and the Main mountain.

Figured it was just marketing but no...somewhere between 2190 and 2200 is the real vertical according to google earth. Surprised they didn't just say 2200.

Much of Lebanon is Frenchie derived. French mixes easily with Arabic in the cafes and bars along the Corniche.
