Hit them both. IMO (of the mountains I've skied, of course), the best three mountains in the east are lined up along that ridge!
I still can't believe you never skied Stowe since you grew up right down the road..
Actually, I grew up 600 miles from Stowe... down in your neck of the woods. Moved to VT in '06.
lots of folks live within 50 miles of stowe and I'll bet most of them have never skied there!
Well, it's not exactly affordable for your typical locals.
Play it by ear based on the weather and snow conditions..
If you are coming in February and NOT during President's Week, and IF you are staying at a participating property (there are over 15 of them) you could look at a Ski The Valley package where your lift ticket is interchangeable between the two. You don't have to decide until you wake up and look at the trail report and weather conditions. The STV ticket is available non holiday after Christmas week until either MRG or SB closes for the season. It must be a minimum 2 night stay midweek or 3 nights if spanning the weekend. It is agressively priced and a GREAT deal. If this fits your situation, PM and I will give you all the details you need.
However, if you are not going to be able to meet those paremeters then I will let others weigh in. I know they will need more questions answered first (they always do!)
