Ski bike question

Pretty sure my plan for this year will involve a combination of ski bikes and outrigger.

For the ski bikes, what type of boots and socks are best? I'm wondering if my shoveling boots will work. Recommendations on what to look for would be much appreciated, also if I need to buy new boots LL bean is my preferred place.

Thanks in advance.

@formernuke , you can ignore Kusty. He's feeling salty today and trying to haze you a bit.

I've never tried ski biking, but have occasionally seen it at different ski areas. I've seen a few people that were extremely proficient at it, including last season at Copper Mtn if memory serves me. I don't remember reading or seeing anything about using special boots to do it. My guess is just a good sturdy winter boot would work.

Thanks, I'm hoping it will be temporary but reality is that might be the only way I'm going up a mountain. Time and trying things will tell.

I thought I saw some people with something like ski blades on when using bikes. Not sure if there are different style of bikes where blades are needed for some styles and not others

Powder Ridge in CT has a fleet of ski bike rentals and does lessons on them too if you want to try before you buy into this sport or at least they used to a couple years ago

They had them at the indoor place in NJ at one point, not sure if they still do. Not a bad place to try things out before heading to a real mountain. It was great teaching my kids to snowboard there so that they didn't have to skip any outdoor skiing days.

No one here uses these ridiculously stupid bikes. I’d prefer if lift served ski areas banned them entirely.
Your an ass everywhere you go, I feel so bad for your New neighbors, I’m sure there will be a ton of complaining by you soon and legal actions taken against The little People who have lived there for generations, because AH Krusty bought a house, FU, you suck, on and off the Hill

Ps. As I’ve said in the past, I could spot you 1000’ away and I’ll walk fast as I can in the other direction.
Skiing, music, dining, driving…basically crossing paths with you spells a nightmare to most. Selfish F !

cool.

its cute that you double posted 15 minutes apart. you think about me a lot. i think about you never.

it says you've posted 97 times, ever. there's gotta be at least 20% about/directed at me. that's a very high batting average. you're a very weird guy!

talk about skiing here, not about your crush on me.

I saw someone at Crotched last year on a ski bike. It looked like he was having so much fun and was in total control.
One of my most fun days ever was at a demo day for snowbikes and a bunch of other crazy contraptions. However, it much closer to no control than total control.

I don't think Wachusett has them. I was looking for something else in their FAQ the other day but it mentioned that snow bikes are not allowed.

I was told it's part of there adaptive program. So either only during adaptive classes or need a adaptive pass would be my guess. But I'll follow up with them.
