Jiminy is one of the best resorts there is if you want to crank out vertical feet. You can go straight down back to the lift and do a lap in less than ten mins. If you want to ski powder even if they get a dump don’t go there, they love to groom every square inch they have.
Not much for bumps either. There used to be a trail there called Mogul Thing but I never was there when it was open or actually had moguls on it.

Hi all I am currently making a school research project on the effects of the buyouts of ski resorts on the public. It would greatly help my project if you all answered this quick survey on your own experiences with your mountain before and after it was last bought. https://forms.office.com/r/ksggegkbg1
Nice. You should put this in the “Vail Sucks” thread.

The spin machine was on. Alterra's CEO points out the positive of the multimountain pass. And I thought that the portrayal of A-Basin was unclear....

new ikon promo. ski with your ikon pass in the usa in feb (i think thru 2/25) and earn $20 in resort credits, up to three times. i think the resort credits need to be used at a fully owned property.

its funny i cant use this. this weekend i am skiing indy. next weekend i am likely taking off (plans on 2/7), and the following weekend im going on an ikon ski trip IN CANADA.

$60 for free for sugarbush restaurants not bad tho

As I read it last night you have to ski an Altera owned mountain and then get a $20 credit at said mountain that won't show up until potentially March.

So they are luring you back...

i mostly interpreted it as 'we're really hurting for snow out west, please come ski, we will pay you'.

for the averge sugarbush skier, its $60 of free resort credit.

what sucks about that?

nothing really. this is just the generalized thread for talking about alterra corporate operations and decision making.

both of these moves telegraph 'we are down skier visits and need visits to drive ancillary revenue'. sucks for alterra. pretty good for us as the consumers.

my bad. I thought it was the trailboss I blame Alterra for ruining my move to Utah thread.

the 50% at least makes the tickets seem not crazy for friends. I bet they get some uptake on that

Yup...my cousin and her husband are going to Stratton in Feb and she messaged me asking if I had Ikon and would share some discounts with them if so. I sent her the discounts (although in this case they were going either way, so realistically Alterra lost a little money)

This. I would continue to watch other moves by Alterra, including the "Reserve" pass program that was unilaterally created. This tells me that sales are flat if not down.
