I've ben considering a pair of twin tips to play around with my sons, and working on backwards skiing with my son on Blizzard TG4's is leading to pain.

Just bugs me there really aren't any online comparisons of skis I can find anyplace, something that could say 'This ski is really soft', or 'nice, and cuts pretty well on groomers too!', or best of all, 'decent twin tip, but heavy as a groomer ski'.

Personally, I'd like to get a twin tip that I can use all mountain, but also not be a hindrance for when I do play around in the park with the kids. Specifically, I'd like something lighter then I'm used to.

I know nothing about twin tip skis

I've just started using ebay and from my experience, that $52 can sky rocket in the last minute


Just last night I tried to pounce on a mid 80's Purple One Piece Descente Powder Suit and it was at $16.00 with 4 minutes to go. The thing ended up selling for $80!!! I couldn't believe it. I was stupid enough to stay in the bidding up to $68 (had some wine in me). I'm glad I lost, but it would've been fun to wear with my new goggles :lol:

Haha well I'm not quite Chris Farley fat..lol..EBAY rocks but as you said..you have to be careful..Last spring I picked up a pair of Langes just like my old boots for $59 and it turned out, they were low volume instead of mid volume...so they currently sit in my closet collecting dust and I'll probably unload them at a skiswap in the fall..

Yeah, the one last night that I 'lost' was killer....a deeper purple with teal stripes. $80 though!!!! couldn't believe it. I hate to 'lose', so ebay might be a bad thing for me :lol: Crazy the sucker went from $16 all the $80 in about 2 minutes.

Those skis seem pretty noodly for twin-tips..I didn't even know they make twin tips that skinny...go for something more substantial like a Rossi Scratch which you can score for under 2 bills. Remember..twin tips ski shorter than conventional skis. Those are not the ideal all mountain skis you're looking for..I would not want to blast through thick crud,,,on skis like that..

I also demoed a pair of Dynastar Trouble Makers which I really liked when I went up to killington.

I'm thinkin I pass on the ebay auction and just hit up someplace before the end of the year that has some decent demo skis and try out some more. Since my budget is dictated over like Stalin by a certain female, I want to make sure to get exactly what I want. I got lucky with my boots I picked up earlier this year, Atomic M100, this years model, for $250. LOVE the fit of 'em.

I bought my Scratch Sprayer BCs from Steep and Cheap for $170 in the fall and they rock..stiffer than I expected and great in powder, crud, and for carving..the only thing my race skis are better in is solid hardpack and ice..

Yea, that's what I've heard. Been wanting to demo some. They're also pretty easy to find decent bargains on. And they could be used a little in the park. Bear in mind I'm not talking arials flipping thru the air or anything. If I get off the ground more then 3 feet in the air I shite midflight. :-D But I have ben having fun switching and slow speeds and the such. I'm gradually getting better at skiing in general over the last two years, and basically, I REALLY need to graduate to a ski that I can do more with. My Blizzard TG4s are really just TG3s that are a little stiffer, and a real nice intermediate ski, but christ is it a beeotch when I go into powerder glades. Feel like I'm trying to do sharp turns with a mac truck.

Granted, some of it's needing to work on form, which will come with time. But hey, it gives me the excuse so my bank-account-goddess has something to chew on. :-D

For getting 3 feet of air you don't need twins..for skiing backwards..switch..twins aren't really necasssary either..but are more fun...I like to butter around a little on my twins..I'm going to find a picture of me riding my tails..one second..
