You mean someone other than Billy Joel is playing the Mohegan Sun between now and early July??? I heard the add on TV this AM that tickets for his 10TH show go on sale this Saturday AM.

i saw billy joel during his 12 (or so) MSG concerts. Definately without a doubt one of the best concerts I;ve ever seen. Mohegan Sun is a little far for me to go or else I would have shelled out to see him again.

Reading this thread piqued my curiosity about when was the last release of any new material by Billy Joel. A very quick search lead me to believe that it's been years. The last of any new releases I find are when he was doing some classical releases 5-6 years ago.

I first saw him a loooong time ago. A tour coinciding with the release of "Turnstiles", 1976 I think. It was an excellent show in a small room that seated maybe 1000 people. I kind of lost interest in him after release of "Nylon Curtain". I have picked up some older CDs over the years that I'll listen to from time to time.

I know his daughter had a new release in the last 2 years.

Billy is a cool guy, we see him here in town quite often, he lives just up the road (esp at the local watering hole) always says "hello" and will sit and have a conversation with you at the bar....

This tour is the first one I've missed since the Presto tour in 89-90.

They put on a hella good show.

I saw Billy when he was still w/ Christie Brinkley at a restaurant in the hamptons. Well thats what I'd tell people. Truth be told the "restaurant" was a burger king, and they took the limo through the drive-thru. He was totally kool, even signed some autographs. but she was smokin hot...Maybe we got the wrong autographs?

I hadn't heard of him until this post. I looked him up and checked out this video. No offense, but $120/ticket seems ironic for a guy who sings about shift work. On the positive side, he seems talented and that video is particularly Jimmy Buffett-like in its sound.
