It's like they are an Arc'teryx specialty shop these days. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but every other item is some kind of arc'teryx clothing. Backcountry must have really over bought last year.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like (from the reviews) Arc'teryx has recently changed production over to China for some (all?) of their products...and some people are in a real tizzy over that. Perhaps that's contributing?

i would say production in china and the high sticker price. there as a thread about arc'teryx and if it was worth the extra coin. i bought my jacket at the beginning of last season, hopefully i got in before the switch was made to china.

Absolutely the high sticker price is a factor. My understanding (and I did read that thread) was that production used to be in Canada with high quality components. The complaint in the review I read was that the production was moved to China (and affected the quality of the jacket, as they had a previous year's model of the same jacket) but the price did not change to reflect this. As they put it, Arc'teryx was going the way of TNF.

I've been REALLY tempted by some of the SAC Arc'teryx products (I would NEVER pay full price for those) but the quality better be awesome for the price.
