I can't vote. I have a well and a sewer. Odd, I know. My town is pretty rural. I considered myself a somewhat refined hick.

I have septic and town water. Does that makes us cultured if we combine the two?

My sewer is privately owned by a sewer trust made up of people living on my block- only private sewer in Boston that I'm aware of (the State House is, technically, a public sewer). But we have city water.

City water, no septic. Just a cesspool. Oh yeah, baby. I'm in a pretty rural spot, but the next town over (Webster) used to be a big manufacturing hub so they installed public water throughout most of the town many years back.

Well/septic. Our town has a really good power system though. In the 7 years we've been there, we've lost power only once or twice. Still, if a big storm is rolling through, a 5 gallong bucket filled with water resides in the garage...can't flush without power.

We have our own sewer and septic. Our town is very rural and does not offer anything in the way of services, except for small highway dept for road maintenance and a town clerk. All other town positions are volunteer.
We prefer to live in the sticks and visit the city.

Septic tank under the front yard, and 235 feet below my backyard is where the well ends and provides my house with an average of 22 gallons a minute. (I keep thinking that one of these years I'm going to tap some of that pressure and get one of the backyard blizzard home snowmaking machines and make me a big 'ol pile of snow :snow: :)

20 acres, 8 miles from town and every once inawhile we call the folks down the road when livestock gets out. Its the neighborly thing to do. PS=Our wells are 350 feet or more. They actually sell our water to townfolks.

HAHAHAHA, anyone want to know what's I think is really funny about this thread?

No?
I'm going to tell you anyway..............
My husband and I run his family's business, Franke Septic Tank Service and Excavating.
We own two gravel pits, and specialize in Commercial and Municipal sewer and water utilities.
I have a CDL with tanker endorsement, and YES, I do know how to pump a septic tank.

We live in the country on 160 acres, and have our own septic, and well.

You can say, I really do know my shit!

Same "crappy" career here Trekchick! Just remember that...."Their shit is our bread and butter" 8)
