the other thread got me thinking about different "terminology" you all may use out on the trail. Do you have crazy nicknames for conditions or specific trails or anything like that?

For example, "sugar" to describe manmade grannual-powder type now
or "death cookie" to describe a patch of ice on a trail

I'd love to hear more things like this

Pocono Pavement - That incredibly hard bumpy surface(usually with frozen cat tracks embedded in it) that shows its ugly head from time to time down here.

Boilerplate - ice hard
Corn snow - consolidated spring snow when it thaws after a good night freeze but before it softens too much and turns into Mashed potatoes
White room - what you enter when the "Poe" is good

frozen mashed - what you get when you hit the hill too soon in the spring and the corn hasn't thawed.

Wait- frozen mashed is unthawed corn? Would soft bumps be biscuits and gravy? Variable conditions = mixed grill?

I bet you could describe an entire season in food terms.

Mmmm, biscuits and gravy...
