Friend of mine owns a house up there, quite a trip from Long Island for just the weekend. I like wide blue groomers to carve down, does this mountain have anything like that? If I don't stay at his place is there any nice, clean basic lodging nearby that won't break the bank?

Burke has some of the best blue square cruising around! Go! You won't find better cruising any where else in New England. Some might argue Stowe but Burke has fewer crowds, does not get scraped down except parts of Big Dipper, and you can find fresh cord after lunch. Not as much quantity but huge quality.

There is a village Inn right in East Burke or also a motel the next town over in lyndonville, plenty of cheap places to hang in. You should check it out, you will be surprised, we love it.

Just because Burke is relatively unknown outside of certain circles doesn't mean it isn't excellent. Most people just think it is "too far". This helps keep the crowds down and the cord fresh. You won't be disappointed.

Burke has great cruising terrain and few crowds.Even when there are more people than usual, there will be nobody on the trails cuz you only really ride one lift for most of the terrain.Check out their trail map and you'll see what I mean.

Two of my friends just went to Burke earlier this week. They reported back that the "LOVE" Burke. Don't recall ever hearing back from any one that went to Burke and did not enjoy the mountain. The ONLY negative comment Burke ever gets is due to the summit quad not being a high speed lift. The result of that lift is uncrowded slopes though, I will take it.

Right where I want to be
I may bring my oldest son (11) on Sunday if the roads aren't too bad. Never been looking forward to it. I want lots of snow but need to be able to drive there as well. catch 22
