You forgot to mention working out your fingers on the Les Paul!![]()
She suggested road biking--told me 30-50 miles should give me about the same high I get from running.![]()
Not to mention who's going to watch the kids. At least with the running, I was able to do it on the treadmill in the very early AM before B went to work or at the end of the day after classes (like 9:30PM), also on the treadmill. Doesn't really fit my schedule all that well...The prob with that is who's got the time? 30 miles is probably an hour and half, especially starting out.
I don't want to talk about it. Stupid knee and sciatica killed my exercise routine during the last 7 or so weeks. Thankfully, the massage therapist did some miraculous work and I'm near 80% on my back. One more session in 2 weeks and I should be good as new again. She said no more running--she has more clients from that than anything else. She suggested road biking--told me 30-50 miles should give me about the same high I get from running.![]()
I used the stationary bike at the gym this morning--boring as hell. Elliptical is good. Basically anything that's low- to no-impact. But they do get boring--I feel more like I'm on a hamster wheel on those than on the treadmill. Still, I got up at 5:13AM, got my butt to the gym, and did the elliptical, stationary bike, and whatever that knee-raising Cybex machine is (???) for 55 min. That last thing was the best workout of the 3 and I'll probably spend more time on that next time.Get a stationary bike? Did they rule out an elliptical, probably not as boring as a stationary bike, but a lot better for the knees than running
Thanks, Warp! I've done this before... keep reminding myself I can do it again. I'm still 30+ lbs below my highest weight ever and I've kept that off through 2 pregnancies and 6 years, so that's something anyway... Just need to keep motivated...Sevie just hang tough on the gym workpouts - i HATED the effin idea , i thought it was TERMINALLY boring too but damn after awhile the results speak for themselves ,
I too ran 7 days a week for 6 straight years in my late 40's thru mid 50's i ended up with hip bursitis , switched to biking and distance walking in the spring summer and fall and walking yr round -- great conditioning coupled with post workout stretch routine
