I got to ski Camelback Sun from 8:30 to 10:30 at which time they had to close the lifts due to lightning in the area and then kept them closed for the rest of the day. The mountain came through the deluge IMO quite well. A couple of minor bare spots on the sides of a couple of trails and plenty of stockpiles to move up and around the mountain. Overall base in good shape. A little wet but great skiing. Bumps are still alive and looked good on Asp and Lower Cleo.

Talked to some management Sat at the Season Passholder Party. After this week of warmer (spring) weather the forecast calls for some colder weather and they stated their intentions to blow some additional snow on some select trails in order to attain their desired April 3rd close.

Interested in hearing from some other locations particulalry the Pocono's and Catskill's as I have some idle time this week with which to ski and once past today it looks good for the rest of the week.

Drove by Mount Southington yesterday, trails got narrower and some brown spots coming thru.

Thanks for the report Alex...Has anyone ever querried management re: the 7 pm closing time they now have posted for weekdays? Meanwhile, as far as I can tell, Blue & Shawnee are still open til 10 and Mt. Creek until 9? I wanna come hit the Lower Cleo bumps at some point, but if things shut down at 7 then it is a no brainer to go to Blue instead.

We dodged a bullet down here somewhat, I'd imagine. Temps never got higher than about 42 from what I could tell. Hopefully much of the rain will drain through and melting was minimal. It could've been a lot worse, like 60 with the heavy rain.

Didn't know they were closing at 7 but its gotta be a business decision. My wife and I were probably 2 of less then 50 people on the mountain yesterday. It was literally a private ski area. No wonder they kept it closed after the lightning stoppage.

When are you going to try and ski this week? Let me know be it CBK or Blue, Shawnee etc. and I may try to hook up with you guys. Hope to hit the Catskills, maybe Hunter this week too.

I was at Sugarloaf yesterday and they escaped the rain. It skied great. I will post my TR later. I am pretty sure Saddleback was missed as well...Sunday River doesn't look to have been so lucky. They are down to 80 + trails (down from 100 +)

I'll be at Mt. Snow tomorrow and will post re the conditions. Sounds like the weekend was a net gain...went from 88% open Friday to 100% open today and they report having received several inches of sloppy snow.

Not going this week. Leavin' Thurs morning for Park City! But Cback did this last year too, cut night skiing to 7 pm. I got caught there arriving at 5:45 once last year and only got an hr in.

They are just closing today at 5. They are planning to be open normal hours the rest of the season.

Blowing snow in mid-March? Impressive. Perhaps not a major cost if it's only to patch up some thin spots, and I'd think there's some good marketing value there.

Certainly should be plenty of water in the snowmaking pond ...

I drove by Mountain Creek on my way to Hidden Valley to renew my pass for next season. MC re-opened today 12-9 on South Peak only and their site says Vernon and Granite are closed for the season. I say a few bid bare spots on Vernon and one on South. MC will close for the season after this weekend.

Hidden Valley also has a couple of bare spots and an e-mail I got from them says that they will be open Tuesday through Friday from 4-9 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 9-6. I asked while I was renewing my pass and she said that it looks like it will be the last weekend at HV but they haven't decided yet.

Mt. Peter's site says they still have plenty of snow and will re-open Tuesday.

i was at bromley today march 15th in the rain. they got about 3'' of wet snow. the mtn skied great they have aallllot of snow, i was skiing in the woods all over the place a little mixed percip. toward the summit but they handled the rain/snow very very well.

Nothing more than a couple showers up here by Burke, but today it was 55 degrees... 60 tomorrow. Natural is going very fast on the mountain. Hard to even find snowbank remnants in town.
