Trying to figure out a plan of somewhere to go this Saturday. I'm a boarder in Boston, and I'd like to keep the driving to close to 3 hours one way. Ideally go to a mountain with a decent base/conditions, and one that I haven't been to before. On the shortlist:

Burke - Zand's reports don't sound promising at all though
Magic - whats this like for boarders? How's their conditions?
Wildcat - got snow this week...
Mount Snow - not been there before
Killington - been there several times, but they did get some snow this week

Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated!

Magic no question. 2 of our crew board & they don't go anywhere else. They stick with us skiers no problem. Conditions are amazing right now & will be perfect peel away corn Saturday.

Oh' & we're dressing in costumes for the occasion, should make for some interesting footage. Say hi if you see us, costumes, DSLR monster lens, helmet cams, etc.

We'll more than likely be grilling & drinking beers up top.

Plus lift is open til 5 now.

Magic for sure!

The other hills will be open next year for certain. By skiing Magic you can visit a new place and help keep it open for when you want to go back next year.

Plus as Rusty stated, if the weather is nice, how could you resist a free beer from a man in a costume.

Oh yeah, I ski and Board, most of our glades were originally trimmed by local borders.

I'm pretty positive that I'll be skiing Magic this Saturday for the first time!

I've heard NOTHING but good things about it, so I can't wait...

So I'm aiming for Magic on Saturday. Was tempted to anyway, plus figured its good to support a mountain like that anyway.

Magic's website is pretty optimistic about the drive time from Boston though. 2.5 hours? I'd have to be driving 90 the whole way I think. Google maps is giving me 3.5 :)

Does Google Maps have your driving route 2 West to I-91 North? Cutting over on 140/12/5/91 saves a liitle time but not an hour.

You could cut your drive short and go to stratton where the snow is better...
(I am going to there saturday, my partner is skiing with me and likes nice easy groomed trails)
