I'll be ripping the east once again. I'm ready to move on from Colorado but first want to come home for an extended period to reconnect with family/friends, organize myself, make some money (I can only hope), and figure out what's next in life before moving on to the future.

Three awesome winters in Colorado but some crazy shit in the last year. I remember all about hardpack I think, this should only take a year I think....who knows.

That said I pretty sure I'll be rockin either a Boyne bronze or a cannon midweek. I want to be able to ski around a bit to, definately spending some time at saddleback along with Jay and MRG

Someone please assure me:

A. I should be looking froward to this

B. It will dump like crazy next winter:spread:

Look forward to skiing with some of you next winter.....

If you come east please bring the snow with you. It was a crappy snow year last winter so we are due for a good one this year. Look forward to skiing with you.

I don't know why these guys are complaining, last season was good enough for eastern ski areas to make money. I saw plenty of reports here about powder days (posters, link your best reports for Snoseek's benefit). Maybe they thought it was a poor year because there was good snow for the holidays and they had to share it. But you should hear them gloat when the powder comes midweek and they have it to themselves!

In my mind, northern New England
Loveland will miss one rippin' skier! Welcome back, snoseek! And yes, bring some snow (and some Tommyknocker). We can't have enough of it!

That being said, let me say:

a) you should be looking forward to this (after all, aside from challenging you with a variety of skiing conditions, we have superior seafood, baked beans and brown bread); and

b) (we hope) it will dump like crazy next winter!

See you at the River (or Jay, Saddleback or Cannon).

Hot damn Sunday River got $$$$$$!

This is how I know It's gonna be a sick next winter-the mighty new england vacuum. It often will snow lots and lots to mess with my head, keep me around. Upon staying it is followed by a marginal couple years. I can assure next year will be sick!

I want to point out the spring of 2007 was right before I moved here. We all remember that? That was the great vacuum trying to pull me back.

Yes Bob I still often drink shitty beer, or any beer for that matter.

looking to settle back into the seacoast area?

Yeah I'll be in Epping/Lee area. Knowing that its not permanent eliminates any job with any kind of real responsibility. I'm looking at August this year through maybe november 2011. I should try to keep an open mind though, nothing ever really goes as planned.

Lets drink some beers or something soon....

I had less than half as many powder days as the last few years and also about half as less deep days and half as many epic days. Late start to the season and early finish (i.e. bad snow making temps in November and early Dec and no new snow in March-April). Ski areas may have made money, but from the perspective of any skier that loves fresh powder, it was definitely well below average.

At only 165", Cannon was average at best--depending upon which average you look at. A single 3' dump accounts for almost 20% of their total snow fall for the year. Not sure if they are counting the last week of November storm that completely melted in that total either? Regardless, I'd see average at best for Cannon. Lots of stuff that just never got to where it needs to be.

Looks like either La Nina or La Nada for next winter. I think either is overall a better pattern that El nino no? I'm saying I got a good strong feeling about next winter. It could be good times over on Mittersill.

Wait, are they really running a chair over their? Sure do hope they get out the weed whacker!

The chair is going in this summer. Good times will be even better else where. Indeed about the weed whacker. All they did last summer was expand the taft slightly, especially the saddle area (needlessly), and cut out the lift line top to bottom (only 5 feet wide or so and without brushing or stumping--trees only). Two of the traverses got cut up... one was actually worse because they didn't de-stump the cuts they made. Barron's is still pretty darn furry considering it takes the most traffic!!!

They faired much better than anyone else. There was no real rain events from the very start of the season to almost the end. They got snow when everyone else in NH was not. I thought it was not the dismal year that some paint it to be.

Not sure what Cannon your refering to.I live at the base of Mittersill and saw many a rainy melt while it was snowing elsewhere.62 days and every weekend from Nov 1st to mid April. In fact, late in the season I drove up on a Wednesday morning and was 48 degrees pretty much the whole ride.Get to Cannon and it was already 68 at the top of the notch.Happens all the time.
